Low Back Pain Physical Therapy in Wichita, KS

Your Back Shouldn't Be the Thing That Breaks You

People come to us when low back pain keeps flaring up after deadlifts, kills their runs, or makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning. At Natural Wellness Physiotherapy, we find what's actually driving it and build a one-on-one plan to get you back to full training — not just teaching you to work around it.

Low Back Pain That Keeps Coming Back Is Telling You Something

Rest isn't fixing the root problem

A week off brings the pain down, but the moment you get back under the bar or out on the road, it's right back. Until someone addresses what's actually driving it, that cycle doesn't stop.

Generic stretches don't fix backs

If prior PT handed you a stretching routine and sent you on your way, that's not your fault. Low back pain needs a real assessment and a plan built around how you actually move and train.

Avoiding the movements you love only goes so far

You've been skipping deadlifts, cutting your runs short, or just grinding through the ache. That's not a long-term plan — it's delaying the work that actually needs to happen.

Common Conditions We Treat

What Many Clients Work Through With Us

From sciatica and disc issues to muscle strains and chronic tightness, many active adults in Wichita work through these low back challenges with us.

Low Back Pain - Aching, tightness, or sharp pain that flares with lifting, running, or sitting too long — and keeps coming back no matter what you try.

Sciatica - Radiating pain, numbness, or tingling that shoots down the leg and makes certain movements feel impossible.

Disc Issues - Pain or symptoms tied to disc changes that limit your range of motion and your ability to load or extend comfortably.

Mid and Upper Back Pain - Stiffness or discomfort between the shoulder blades or along the spine that limits how you move and train.

Muscle Strains and Overuse - Soreness or tightness that builds gradually from training load or posture and doesn't resolve on its own.

Arthritis-Related Back Pain - Stiffness and aching that limits how long you can stand, walk, or train — without having to accept it as permanent.

SI Joint Pain - Localized pain at the base of the spine or into the glutes that makes single-leg loading, running, or getting up from a chair difficult.

Hip and Glute Pain Linked to the Back - Discomfort that originates in the low back but shows up in the hip or glutes and needs to be addressed at the source.

Frequently Asked Questions

Low back pain can be hard to sort out on your own. Here are the questions active adults in Wichita ask us most before getting started.

Why hasn't my back gotten better on its own?

Low back pain often lingers because the underlying driver — a movement pattern, a load issue, a strength gap — hasn't been identified or fixed. Rest quiets symptoms for a while, but without addressing what's actually causing it, the pain returns as soon as you're back to lifting or running. That's exactly where we start.

Will I have to stop training while I'm in PT?

In most cases, no. One of our goals is to keep you as active as possible while we work on the underlying problem. We'll identify what you can load safely and build your plan around your training — not the other way around. Many clients keep lifting or running throughout care with targeted modifications that fit where they are.

Do I need imaging or a referral to get started?

No referral needed. Imaging can be useful context, but it isn't required — and many structural findings on an MRI don't correlate directly with your pain or limitations. We'll do a thorough assessment and let that guide the plan.

How long does low back PT usually take?

It depends on what's driving the pain, how long it's been going on, and what you want to get back to. Many clients notice meaningful progress within the first few sessions. After your evaluation, we'll give you a clear picture of what to expect and a realistic timeline.

Do you take insurance?

We're a cash-based clinic. We accept HSA and FSA, and we can provide a superbill so you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your insurance plan. Many clients find the one-on-one, undivided care well worth the investment.

Still have questions?

Low back pain can be confusing — we're happy to answer your questions before you commit to anything.

Done Waiting for Your Back to Come Around?

If low back pain has been interrupting your training, cutting your sessions short, or just grinding you down day after day, it's time to find out what's actually driving it. Book a free phone call and we'll build a plan around your goals.
