Shoulder Mobility for Shoulder Pain

Sounds boring, until you are trying to Clean and Jerk or just lift the milk into the fridge. Your shoulder complex is called that for a reason. It's complex. In fact, the whole upper quarter is pretty well responsible for moving your arm overhead. 

Very often we find that due to sitting or other postural deficits, we lack end-range shoulder motion and it rears its ugly little head in a lot of different ways, including bicep or rotator cuff tendinitis, neck tightness, headaches and scapular pain. 

So take the quick test and see if you are able to truly raise you arm overhead without flaring your ribs out, bending your elbow or shrugging. If not, you have a mobility issue that will lead to loss of function down the way. That can mean injury or reduced performance with activities like pressing overhead or pull-ups.
