October Athlete of the Month - Cindy Pfeifer

If you’re in need of some inspiration to live a long and healthy life, just hang out with Cindy Pfeifer for a few minutes. 

Cindy’s a retired school librarian whose goal is to stay active for her grandchildren and eventually dance at her granddaughters’ weddings. 

Her favorite way to stay fit is through playing tennis, but she’s also a fan of working out with other ladies in Zumba and the Optimal Girl Boot Camp at Optimal Performance. Cindy loves running races and yoga, too. 

She’s completed four full marathons, over 50 half marathons, several sprint triathlons and too many 5Ks to count. Next month, Cindy plans to run the 5K Turkey Trot with her grandkids. 

Cindy’s goals are to increase her USTA tennis ranking, improve mobility, stay injury free and keep having fun on the court. Another goal? “I want to be fit enough to complete the rim to rim hike in the Grand Canyon.”

While in college, Cindy played intramural rugby,  and when she coached high school basketball, her team was featured in Sports Illustrated.

Cindy’s advice for anyone wanting to be fit for life? “Stay active and get outdoors often.”

We think that’s GREAT advice! We love the way Cindy thinks and how dedicated she is to staying fit and healthy.
