November Athlete of the Month: Shea Tincher’s Active and Inspiring Journey

Written by Team Natural Wellness | Nov 26, 2024 3:15:46 PM

At 51, Shea Tincher is living proof that dedication, resilience, and a positive mindset can lead to incredible accomplishments both in and out of the gym. As Natural Wellness Physiotherapy’s Athlete of the Month, Shea’s story is one of perseverance and passion for maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle.

“Family has always been the most important thing in life,” Shea shares. With two boys and 28 years of marriage under her belt, she cherishes the time spent traveling and enjoying activities together as a family. Her professional life is equally impressive—she’s a Sales Manager at Orizon Aerostructures, where she leads the customer service department and external sales. Balancing career, family, and fitness is no small feat, yet Shea tackles it all with unrelenting energy.

When low back pain threatened to derail her workouts, Shea worked with Dr. Clayton Dir, who provided targeted treatment and a personalized plan to strengthen her hips at home. “Clayton was great at treating the back on site and organizing exercises to strengthen my hips at home,” she recalls.

Dr. Kiersten also played a pivotal role in Shea’s journey. “Kiersten and I have been working on pelvic floor treatment that has been great for the low back issue and little flare-ups that happen in between visits,” Shea explains. Thanks to this dedicated team, she’s been able to continue her daily CrossFit workouts—something she’s passionate about.

Shea’s love for CrossFit is undeniable. “The accomplishments that happen at the gym definitely have translated into my life outside of the gym. I have mentally and physically become a stronger person,” she says. For Shea, the camaraderie of group fitness at Compelled and the constantly varied workouts make it her favorite way to stay fit. It’s not just about physical strength—CrossFit is her daily stress reliever and a fun way to start her mornings.

While she enjoys an occasional solo walk or run, Shea admits that working out alone is not her favorite. “My least favorite activity is doing workouts on my own!”

Among her fitness achievements, Shea’s completion of the Pikes Peak Marathon at 40 stands out as a defining moment. “It was the hardest race not only physically but mentally,” she says. The experience gave her the confidence to tackle a major career change just days after finishing the grueling race.

These days, Shea takes pride in simply being able to work out daily and enjoy activities like hiking, pickleball, golfing, and hunting. Her goal moving forward? “To continue to maintain for as long as possible where I am today in my fitness.”

Shea’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: “Always keep moving and stay as active as you can. Don’t stop moving when things start to hurt—seek PT and keep doing what you love!”

Her commitment to fitness isn’t just about physical health; it’s about living a life filled with the activities and experiences she loves. With her infectious enthusiasm and steadfast determination, Shea Tincher inspires everyone around her to prioritize their well-being and embrace the journey.

Congratulations, Shea, on being our November Athlete of the Month! Your story reminds us all to keep pushing forward, no matter the challenges, and to find joy in movement.
