Shoulder issues? Watch this to gain more Overhead MobilityAug 16, 2021
Have a problem going overhead with your arms?
This week Dr. Clayton Dir walks you through a detailed explanation of the Hook lying Overhead Negative move. This exercise requires very little space, little equipment and is an easy one to learn. Shoulder flexion allows you to be able to reach overhead to grab things or press objects overhead.
The addition of load via a dumbbell or bar allows the shoulder joint to reach a larger range of motion than what you are naturally capable off. This allows you to gain access to larger ranges of motion and explore new territory. A big key with this exercise is keeping your ribcage down and pelvis tucked which will prevent any space arising between your low back and the bench.
